Volleyball Recap: Scottsbluff Has No Trouble Against Gering

Scottsbluff extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 10-9. They put the hurt on the Gering Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Bearcats this season.

Addy Bowlin paced Scottsbluff's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bowlin got some help from Lillian Hays and her 36 assists. Finally, Marley Wilkinson kept Scottsbluff's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

As for Gering, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 11-2 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since September 7, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Gering saw an underclassman step up: freshman Adriana Canales had 20 digs and one assist. Canales is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Looking ahead, Scottsbluff will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Torrington at 4:00 p.m. As for Gering, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Valentine on the 20th.
