Softball Game Preview: Apollo Eagles vs. Butler County Bears

Apollo is a perfect 3-0 against Butler County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Apollo fell victim to Daviess County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Butler County scored first but ultimately less than Madisonville-North Hopkins in their game on Thursday. They came up short against the Maroons, falling 11-1.

Butler County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Apollo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went Apollo's way against Butler County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Apollo made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
