Softball Recap: West Middlesex's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

West Middlesex hadn't done well against Wilmington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Big Reds walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Greyhounds. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Big Reds as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nevaeh Lapcevich was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Haley Gioan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Middlesex kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

West Middlesex's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Wilmington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

West Middlesex will challenge Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
