Basketball Game Preview: Fairview Knights vs. Broomfield Eagles

The Fairview Knights will challenge the Broomfield Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Fairview ended up a good deal behind Frederick and lost 52-38. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 36th).

Despite the loss, Fairview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Hickory went 11-for-17 en route to 29 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hickory has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Broomfield entered their tilt with Mead on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They blew past the Mavericks 65-38. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Broomfield's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Fairview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Fairview took a serious blow against Broomfield in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 53-26. Can Fairview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
