Basketball Game Preview: Bryan County Redskins vs. Screven County Gamecocks

The Bryan County Redskins will challenge the Screven County Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bryan County will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Portal, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Bryan County enjoyed a cozy 59-42 victory over Portal last Friday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Screven County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-42 win over Emanuel County Institute. That looming 69-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Gamecocks yet this season.

Bryan County better keep an eye on Rodney Beckworth. He was instrumental in Screven County's win, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Beckworth a new career-high in assists (four). LeVez Roper was another key player, going 8 for 18 en route to 22 points.

The victory got Screven County back to even at 8-8. As for Bryan County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
