Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Bloom-Carroll

With a playoff win on the line, Bloom-Carroll rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the St. Francis DeSales Stallions get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 18 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Maddi Walters tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madelyn Gates was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ady Luke was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Bloom-Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bloom-Carroll pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for St. Francis DeSales, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

As of now, neither Bloom-Carroll nor the Stallions have any future games scheduled.
