Softball Recap: North Caddo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Green Oaks last Wednesday, North Caddo came back down to earth. The North Caddo Titans took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loyola College Prep Flyers on Thursday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flyers earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Nataleigh Ball spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, North Caddo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlee West, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

North Caddo has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Loyola College Prep's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

Coincidentally, North Caddo and Loyola College Prep will both be playing Caddo Magnet the next time they take the field. Loyola College Prep will head out to face Caddo Magnet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while North Caddo will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
