Volleyball Recap: Chequamegon Comes Up Short

Chequamegon lost against Abbotsford back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Screaming Eagles fell 3-1 to the Falcons. While the Screaming Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-21 in the first set.

Chequamegon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Alize Taylor and Kaydence McKuen, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Jalen Brunell and her 15 assists.

Caylee Clement was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three aces. What's more, she racked up seven assists, the most she's had over her last 18 contests.

Chequamegon now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Abbotsford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Chequamegon will square off against Marathon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Abbotsford, after both having extra time off, they and Edgar will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
