Softball Recap: Tacony Academy Charter Extends Winning Streak to Four

Tacony Academy Charter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Penn Treaty Wolves an 11-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aniya Askins-Pinkney was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubryella Thomas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Tacony Academy Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Tacony Academy Charter's record is now 4-1. As for Penn Treaty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

After both having extra time off, Tacony Academy Charter and Thomas A. Edison will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd. The Lions are facing the Owls at the right time seeing as the Owls are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Penn Treaty, they will square off against Bodine at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd. Penn Treaty will need to watch out since Bodine has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
