Brookland is 8-2 against Trumann since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bearcats will square off against the Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

If Brookland beats Trumann with 12 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Bearcats' way against South Side on Monday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won 18 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Trumann waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 19-6 margin over the Indians.

Brayden McClaughlin looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Trumann got a massive performance out of Drake Harlow, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Harlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Passmore, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Brookland's record is now 23-7. As for Trumann, their record now sits at 16-9-2.

Brookland got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2024 against Trumann by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
