Basketball Game Preview: Echols County Wildcats vs. Lanier County Bulldogs

The Echols County Wildcats will challenge the Lanier County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Echols County is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Brooks County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Echols County had to suffer through a 66-36 loss at the hands of Brooks County. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Trojans are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Lanier County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 45-40 to Turner County.

Echols County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Lanier County, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Echols County suffered a grim 45-23 defeat to Lanier County in their previous meeting back in January. Can Echols County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
