Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Bulldogs vs. Marquez Gladiators
Elizabeth had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Marquez Gladiators, falling 25-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on Monday.
As for Marquez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
For Marquez's part, they got a massive performance out of Jaime Hernandez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Hernandez a new career-high. Ricardo Zavala was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Elizabeth has already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Sotomayor on the 28th. As for Marquez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Torres on the 28th.
