Basketball Recap: Fairbury Takes a Loss

Fairbury suffered their biggest defeat since February 20, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 68-30 loss at the hands of the Auburn Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Jeffs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 27th).

Several Jeffs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Martin, who posted 11 points.

Fairbury has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Auburn, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fairbury has already played their next game, a 44-39 win against Raymond Central on the 21st. As for Auburn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-32 victory against Sacred Heart on the 21st.
