Basketball Recap: Sage Hill Comes Up Short

Sage Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies, falling 71-48. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 228th).

Sage Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Godinez Fundamental, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sage Hill will take on St. Anthony in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lightning will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.88 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Godinez Fundamental and Whitney will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
