Northwestern Regional's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Housatonic Mountaineers. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Northwestern Regional walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Sophie Stanulis, who had five digs and four aces. Sophia Schoonmaker also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Northwestern Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 18 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Northwestern Regional's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Housatonic, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Northwestern Regional will venture away from home to take on Nonnewaug at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Housatonic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
