It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Whitney had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fairfield Eagles a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Whitney is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

Looking ahead, Whitney will take on Orangefield on Saturday. Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
