Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 11-23 to make it five. They lost 13-0 to the Dexter Dreadnaughts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dreadnaughts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Monday.

Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Stone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Stone has become a key player for the Railsplitters: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-22 otherwise.

As for Dexter, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.

On Dexter's side, Jack Sayler was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Chance Sobbry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Lincoln had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
