Lincoln had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down the Northwest Mustangs 53-36. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Mustangs are ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lincoln Cardinals face off against the Green Ridge Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to challenge Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Northwest likes a good challenge.
