Softball Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery Mustangs vs. Auburn Eagles

Eastern Montgomery hasn't had much luck against Auburn recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Eastern Montgomery will be playing at home against Auburn at 5:00 p.m.

Eastern Montgomery is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Giles.

Macie Akers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Kochel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Auburn and Giles, and Auburn kept the tradition alive. Auburn put the hurt on Giles with a sharp 11-3 win on Tuesday.

Johnnie Gaynor was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Ramrattan, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Eastern Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
