Soccer Game Preview: North Monterey County vs. Carmel

The North Monterey County Condors will head out to square off against the Carmel Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

North Monterey County is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Gonzales on Tuesday. North Monterey County fell just short of Gonzales by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Condors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 944th, while the Spartans are ranked 342nd).

Meanwhile, Carmel came up short against Soledad on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Padres have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for North Monterey County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
