Coalfield came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Northview Academy Cougars. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Coalfield got a great performance from Eli Coleman as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits.

On the hitting side, Jorden Steinhauer was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Luke Treece was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coalfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Coalfield pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northview Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Coalfield has already played their next contest, a 16-2 win against Oakdale on the 18th. Northview Academy has also already played their next match (against Union County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
