Softball Recap: Clarkdale Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Clarkdale came tearing into Monday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans by a score of 9-5. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Trojans back in February, they had to take a 16-13 loss.

Clarkdale's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.8 runs across that stretch. As for Northeast Lauderdale, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Clarkdale and Northeast Lauderdale are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will challenge Collins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they will face off against Itawamba Agricultural at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
