Softball Recap: Gray's Creek Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Gray's Creek couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 5-1 to the Cleveland Rams on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hailey McFarley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Gray's Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Welsh, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Gray's Creek's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Cleveland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Gray's Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cleveland has already played their next matchup (against Garner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
