The Reavis Rams will square off against the Taft Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Reavis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Taft's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Taft will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Reavis extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bolingbrook 5-3.
Will Swierczynski looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Tino Villagomez was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Anthony Perez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Taft, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Amundsen get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Not much got past Carlos Gonzalez, who gave up just two hits to keep Amundsen off the board. Gonzalez also tossed a walk, which is notable because Taft is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-13 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wes Blitz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Taft's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 9-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Evan Jocic, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Reavis' victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
