Softball Game Preview: Hubbard Eagles vs. Liberty Leopards

The Hubbard Eagles will take on the Liberty Leopards at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hubbard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Hubbard beat Ursuline 11-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Layla Songer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Emalee Warren was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hubbard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Liberty didn't have quite enough to beat LaBrae on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Leopards have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hubbard, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
