Smithville posted their biggest win since November 7, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lamar County Bulldogs as the Smithville Seminoles made off with a 39-13 victory. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 177th in Mississippi, while the Bulldogs are ranked 383rd in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Smithville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lamar County, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
