Football Recap: Sudan Hornets vs. Farwell Steers
Sudan and Farwell squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sudan had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 56-42 to the Steers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 41-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.
Caleb Groetken threw for 315 yards and a pair of TDs. Aspen Reyher was his top target, picking up 105 receiving yards.
Kolson Allen produced another solid effort throwing for 271 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 99 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries for Farwell. Allen's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Coy Miller helped out on the ground, rushing for 140 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Sudan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Farwell, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-1.
Sudan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Farwell, they will head out on the road to square off against Ropes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Steers surely won't give up without a fight.
