Lima Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over Kalida. The Thunderbirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waynesfield-Goshen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cory-Rawson on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Fighting Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

Tarynn Vorhes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Makenna Shaw was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
