Softball Recap: Stony Point Has No Trouble Against Manor

Stony Point won against Hutto last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Stony Point was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Manor Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Ria Champaneri tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Brianna Moreno was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Stony Point hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Stony Point pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Manor, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coincidentally, Stony Point and Manor will both be playing Cedar Ridge the next time they take the field. Manor will host Cedar Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Stony Point will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
