Softball Recap: St. John Heralds vs. Cardinal Huskies

St. John came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-7 to the Cardinal Huskies. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Maddie Holler and Nadia Lagoa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Holler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Lagoa went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Carney, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Cardinal, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Coming up, St. John will challenge Mathews at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
