Softball Recap: Medomak Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Camden Hills the last time they met, Medomak Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers skirted past the Windjammers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 2nd.

Sidney Nichols spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 20 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claudia Feeley, who went 1-for-5 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kytana Williamson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win was the third in a row for Medomak Valley, bringing their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Camden Hills, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medomak Valley will square off against Leavitt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.3, the Hornets 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Camden Hills, they will face off against Mt. Ararat at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Windjammers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
