Soccer Game Preview: Independence vs. Columbia

The Independence Blue Devils will take on the Columbia Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Independence has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Columbia will have to contend with a Independence squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since September 25. Independence came up short against Wickliffe on Thursday, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Columbia kept a clean sheet against Keystone on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Wildcats. Columbia haven't had any issues with Keystone recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Independence couldn't quite get it done against Columbia in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
