Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Leo's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Mississinewa by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this matchup were averaging 3.62 runs allowed.
Luke MacDonald was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Patrick Drudy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Leo's loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Lakeland, their record is now 16-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lakeland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Leo struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
