Basketball Game Preview: Ridgewood Maroons vs. Ramapo Raiders

The Ridgewood Maroons will head out on the road to take on the Ramapo Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Ridgewood beat Northern Highlands 64-56.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ramapo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 66-56 victory over Paramus on Tuesday. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Spartans are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ramapo's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Ridgewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Ridgewood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-41 loss to Ramapo when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Ridgewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
