Baseball Game Preview: Berlin Mountaineers vs. Inter-Lakes Lakers

The Berlin Mountaineers will head out to take on the Inter-Lakes Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Berlin didn't have quite enough to beat Kennett and fell 7-6. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Inter-Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Gilford, falling 17-7.

Danny Bean made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Ryder Palsgrove also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Inter-Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Berlin was able to grind out a solid victory over Inter-Lakes in their previous matchup on Monday, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
