Basketball Recap: Kaufer Seahawks vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns
The Kaufer Seahawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Agua Dulce by a score of 31-29. If Kaufer was looking for revenge after losing 22-18 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Agua Dulce's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Vinton, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Vinton hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Deaver, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Kaufer's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Agua Dulce, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
Kaufer will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Villa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Agua Dulce, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Maria is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
