Preview: Skyview Wolverines vs. Evergreen Cougars
Skyview is 0-3 against Evergreen since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Skyview Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Evergreen Cougars at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Skyview had to settle for a 28-25 loss against Wheat Ridge.
Skyview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Che Brown, who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Bryson Gutierrez who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.
Evergreen can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Littleton 29-7.
Evergreen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Solomon Bentrott, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Evergreen's victory bumped their season record to 1-6 while Skyview's loss dropped theirs to 5-2.
Skyview was dealt a bruising 61-6 defeat at the hands of Evergreen in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Skyview, Tommy Poholsky (who threw for 345 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
