Softball Preview: Chaparral Firebirds vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

The Chaparral Firebirds will head out to take on the Campo Verde Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Chaparral took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Centennial by a score of 6-1.

Chaparral got a great performance from Reese Cosman as she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Cosman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Campo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Chaparral came out on top in a nail-biter against Campo Verde in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6.
