Football Game Preview: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Newberry Panthers

The Suwannee Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Newberry Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Suwannee's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Suwannee took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 6-0 W over Baker County. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Jessica Tran, who rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown. An impressive showing, but she really ramped things up playing D: she picked up a sack, made seven total tackles, and defended two passes.

Meanwhile, Newberry strolled past Gainesville with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 27-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Suwannee's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.3 points on average over those games. As for Newberry, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
