The Fighting Irish already have commitments from two blue-chip offensive linemen and could add a third.

Notre Dame commits could give the Irish the best offensive line recruiting class in history.

During Brian Kelly's tenure at Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish have recruited the offensive line remarkably well.

Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand has been integral in bringing in the likes of Quenten Nelson and Tristen Hoge, and has contributed to the development of first-round pick Zach Martin and probable first-round pick Ronnie Stanley.

But Hiestand and Kelly could be doing their finest work yet with the 2016 recruiting class.

Notre Dame first landed a commitment from Elder (Cincinnati) tackle Tommy Kraemer, the nation's No. 8 recruit overall according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Kraemer hails from the same high school at former Fighting Irish tight end Kyle Rudolph. He committed to Notre Dame in October.

This spring Notre Dame struck again in Ohio, gaining a commitment from St. Ignatius (Cleveland) standout Liam Eichenberg, who picked the Fighting Irish over the defending national champion Buckeyes. Eichenberg is the No. 21 recruit in the country regardless of position, per 247Sports.

Now in Notre Dame's crosshairs is Wisconsin lineman Ben Bredeson, another touted recruit who checks in at No. 29 in the 247Sports rankings for the Class of 2016.

The most recent Crystal Ball selection for Bredeson is in favor of Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish will have to beat out both Wisconsin and Michigan for Bredeson's services.

If Hiestand was able to work his recruiting magic on Bredeson, it would give Notre Dame three offensive linemen ranked in the Top 30 of all recruits in the class. It would also give the Irish a staggering three of the top seven recruits at the offensive tackle position according to 247Sports, which would make it an historically impressive class.

Currently Georgia also boasts an impressive class, with commitments from both Ben Cleveland and E.J Price, the No. 14 and No. 40 ranked recruits in the class of 2016, respectively.
