Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Somerset Academy - Canyons on Monday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Mackenzie Gerst was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Kylie Zimmerman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
With the victory, Dr. Joaquin Garcia broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10. As for Highlands Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Highlands Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330.
