Softball Recap: Buckeye Starts off Right with Win over Wooster

Buckeye had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Wooster Generals on Saturday.

LaRyssa Hartshorn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Ryenne Ford was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Casandra Minarchick, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Wooster dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Buckeye will have a chance to go back-to-back against Wooster: the pair will be back at it again later today.
