Baseball Recap: King Takes a Loss

King extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 10-11. They came up short against the Centennial Huskies, falling 15-8. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 15-10 to the Huskies when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Travis Paino was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cory Lacher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

As for Centennial, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 19-3).

On Centennial's side, Evan Pe?a looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pe?a has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ethan Miller was a standout: he fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 12 games. Aiden Simpson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

While King had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
