Basketball Game Preview: Valencia Tigers vs. Buena Park Coyotes

The Valencia Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Buena Park Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valencia will be strutting in after a win while Buena Park will be coming in after a loss.

Valencia took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Santa Ana with points to spare, taking the game 75-56. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Saints are ranked 981st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Buena Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Laguna Hills 87-43.

Valencia is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Buena Park, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Valencia was taken down by Buena Park 67-31 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Valencia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
