PADUCAH, Ky. - A big 35-point first quarter helped carry McCracken County to a 49-6 victory over Marshall County (Benton, Ky.) on Saturday.
The Paducah school scored on a touchdown pass by
Zyaire Hughes to
Rasheed Jones, a
Jordan Troutman touchdown run, a Hughes touchdown pass to Jones, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown pass by Hughes to
Cole Ousley in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Hughes to Jones in the first quarter, McCracken County was up 42-6 at the half.
The Paducah school grew its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. McCracken County's lone score in the quarter came on a Troutman touchdown run.
With the win the Paducah school extended its winning streak to five games. McCracken County defeated Graves County 63-30 last week.
Marshall County's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
McCracken County came in allowing an average of 20.0 points per game this season.
The loss comes after Marshall County defeated Crittenden County 43-0 last week.
McCracken County (5-2) will play a 6A District 1 game against Daviess County next week, while Marshall County (1-6) will take on Henderson County also in a 6A District 1 game.
