Basketball Recap: Woodland Wolfpack vs. Eagle's Landing Eagles

Woodland lost to Eagle's Landing back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolfpack were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 89-88 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Eagles are ranked 140th).

Eagle's Landing was led to victory by Malik Hand and Jamare Davenport. Hand shot 56% from the field on his way to 20 points and seven boards, while Davenport went 7-for-11 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Davenport is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Gavin Adams was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Woodland now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Eagle's Landing, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Woodland has already played their next matchup, a 47-46 win against Jones County on the 6th. Eagle's Landing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
