Basketball Game Preview: Oregon City Pioneers vs. Westview Wildcats

Oregon City is 2-7 against Westview since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oregon City Pioneers will venture away from home to take on the Westview Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Oregon City's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Friday, Oregon City was fully in charge, breezing past West Salem 64-34. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Titans are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westview). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging an 84-47 win over Roseburg. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Oregon City's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Westview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Oregon City couldn't quite finish off Westview in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 42-40. Can Oregon City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
