Soccer Recap: Wellsboro Starts Season with Win Against Montgomery

Wellsboro had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Montgomery Red Raiders on Saturday, sneaking past 3-2.

Ella Boyce and Hailey Smith scored all three of Wellsboro's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Wellsboro and Montgomery will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Hornets see the pitch they'll take on Athens at 5:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Montgomery, their break will end when they face Millville at 4:30 p.m. on September 8.
