Bloomfield Hills is returning to their home field after beating Athens on theirs, despite the fact Athens has dominated at home this season. The Black Hawks had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Black Hawks have posted against the Red Hawks since April 18, 2022.
Bloomfield Hills got a great performance from Rishaan Hussain as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Hussain a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Harst, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew McDermott, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cass Tech entered their tilt with Renaissance on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Phoenix get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Technicians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.
Chris Hooper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jelani Jabari was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Khari Kumasi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Cass Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renaissance only posted an OBP of .071.
Bloomfield Hills' win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Cass Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 22-8.
