Baseball Recap: Soddy Daisy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clinton on Friday, Soddy Daisy came back down to earth. The Trojans came up short against the Maryville Red Rebels on Friday, falling 9-2.

Soddy Daisy got a good showing from Jaxon Morgan, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Soddy Daisy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Logan Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Soddy Daisy's loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for Maryville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Soddy Daisy will venture away from home to challenge Powell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maryville, they will square off against Daniel Boone at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Rebels are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Trailblazers an eight-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
